A Big Network Upgrade Is Coming to RackGenius

We are always working on ways to improve performance and reliability across the RackGenius network, and we have a major upgrade planned for 2026 that we are excited to share with all of you.

Ethan revealed that a new 100G optic has arrived for our upcoming Cogent transit port in the data center. This adds a large amount of new upstream capacity and strengthens our overall network blend as we continue to grow.

What this means in real terms is better routing, improved network speeds, and another solid path that we can rely on. If there is ever an issue with one provider, traffic can move more smoothly to other routes instead of bottlenecking in one place.

What This Upgrade Means For You?

This upgrade gives us more room to scale. As more dedicated servers, game hosting services, VPS, and other projects are added to the network. Having this extra capacity helps keep performance structured instead of pushing the network to its limits.

Before this link goes live, there will be a scheduled maintenance window so we can bring the port online, configure it, and properly test any failures. Full details on timing will be shared ahead of time so everyone can plan around it.
