Building a Faster, Smarter RackGenius Network
If you’ve been with RackGenius for a while, you know we’re always improving things behind the scenes. Over the past couple of months, we’ve been putting in some serious work on our network to make everything faster, even more reliable, and ready for what’s next.
In October, we completed an edge switch cutover that gave our data center a huge performance boost. This upgrade expanded our capacity, improved redundancy, and set the stage for the next phase of being Genius. It might not sound like much on the surface, but these changes are what keep your websites and servers running smooth, fast, and reliable.
Next, we’re following that up with a network spine replacement happening on Sunday, November 9 at 11:30 AM ET. This maintenance will temporarily take services offline for about an hour and a half, but once it’s complete, our network capacity and stability will be stronger than ever. Think of it as swapping out the engine while making sure the car runs better than before.
Here’s the most exciting part. We’ve officially secured a second rack at our data center, and we’re hard at work getting it ready to use. This expansion gives us room for more hardware, better redundancy, and even more room to scale as we keep growing. Once it’s online, it’ll open up a whole new level of performance and flexibility for what we can offer.
We know maintenance windows aren’t anyone’s favorite thing, but they’re part of what keeps RackGenius running at a Genius level . These upgrades are the foundation for bigger things to come, from better performance to smarter scaling.
🕓 Maintenance window: 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM ET
💡 If you notice issues after 1:30 PM ET, check the Discord for updates.
The past few months have been busy, but every upgrade brings us closer to a network that’s faster, more resilient, and ready for whatever our users throw at it. Things are moving quickly around here, and as we keep expanding, one thing is for sure. Things are about to get Genius.
