Happy Ghasts Take Flight in Minecraft's Summer Update

Alright, here’s the deal. Minecraft is getting one of the most unexpected but exciting updates in a while. It’s called the Happy Ghast Update, and it’s paired with something Mojang is calling the Vibrant Visuals Update for Bedrock Edition.

This isn’t just a little patch. You’re getting a whole new way to explore the game, both visually and in gameplay. Let’s run through what’s coming and why this is the perfect time to start fresh with a new server.

What’s Actually in the Update?

First up, the Happy Ghast part. Yes, really. You can now tame and ride a ghast in Minecraft. It’s not a joke.

Happy Ghast is a big floating creature that you and up to four friends can ride through the skies.
You’ll need to hatch it from something called a Dried Ghast Block. Once it’s grown, slap on a harness and you’re flying.
There’s also a new little mob called a Ghastling. It’s basically a baby ghast and you can feed it snowballs to help it grow.
There’s a Player Locator Bar now too, so you’ll be able to track your friends while exploring.

If you’re into building cool bases or roleplaying with friends, this stuff opens up a lot of fun ideas. Flying across the world with your crew on a giant screaming ghost? Count us in.

Vibrant Visuals

This part of the update is all about how the game looks. Mojang basically gave us built-in shaders without needing mods.

There’s directional lighting now. Shadows move more realistically based on where the sun is.
Water reflects better. Lava glows brighter. Fog feels like actual fog.
Spider eyes and other glowing items shine in dark areas.
You can turn all of this on or off in the settings if your device can handle it.

It works in all your old worlds too, so you won’t have to start over unless you want to.
