RackGenius Recap 2025
2025 was a huge year for RackGenius. It was a year where dreams turned into reality, infrastructure grew, and the RackGenius Blog became something more than just updates. It became a place to learn, explore, and share what we’re building.
One of the biggest moments of the year came in May, when Snakecraft Hosting officially rebranded to RackGenius. This change wasn’t just about a new name or look. It reflected how much the company had grown beyond its original focus. The rebrand allowed us to better represent the wide range of services we offer today, while also setting a clearer path for where we’re headed in the future.
One major addition in 2025 was the introduction of server backups as a paid add-on across every RackGenius service. This was something we were working on for a while, and rolling it out meant giving our customers more peace of mind. This wasn’t just extra protection; whether you’re hosting a game server, website, or VPS, having reliable backups matters, and we’re glad we could make that happen.
A great opportunity we made available this year was free VPS offerings for students and nonprofit organizations. This was a big step for us. We wanted to ensure that people working on school projects, community initiatives, and meaningful causes had access to real infrastructure, without cost being a barrier. Seeing these projects take off has been one of the most rewarding parts of the year.
As part of The Genius Impact initiative, we also introduced the Genius Impact Scholarship. This annual scholarship is designed to support students who are passionate about tech and eager to grow. We look for curious, creative learners who show drive and potential. Winners receive both cash and RackGenius credit to help with school expenses and technology-related projects. This scholarship reflects our commitment to giving back and helping the next generation of innovators succeed not just in Michigan but around the world!
Looking Behind The Genius
Behind the scenes, RackGenius grew in a big way. We installed upgrades to our server infrastructure and expanded into a second rack at the data center. This growth allows us to offer better performance, more reliability, and room to keep expanding as more people choose RackGenius for their hosting needs.
On top of that, the RackGenius Blog also had an incredible first year. In 2025 alone, we published over 60 blog posts covering dozens of topics. From product updates, guides, industry insights, and fun ideas. The blog slowly became a core part of how we communicate, teach, and connect with the community. Writing consistently helped us refine our voice and share more of what goes on behind the curtain at RackGenius.
Beyond The Genius
Looking back, 2025 was about laying strong foundations. Not just in hardware and services, but in values, creativity, and community. Every update, post, and upgrade was another step toward building something we truly believe in.
